Electrician
The ITI Electrician trade covers both theory and practical knowledge over two years. Students learn the basics of electricity, electrical units, Ohm’s Law, resistance, and wiring systems. Training includes cells, batteries, magnetism, electromagnetism, and safety practices. Practical work involves wiring, soldering, jointing, and installation of equipment. Advanced topics include DC machines, AC fundamentals, transformers, alternators, synchronous and induction motors. Students also study electrical instruments, power generation, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy. Key skills include motor/transformer winding, appliance testing, fault finding, and maintenance. Hands-on training covers panel boards, switchgear, and real-life electrical system operation.
